Google has a wide range of certifications available to individuals wanting to learn or show their expertise to companies. Individuals need to pass with 80% or higher to gain a certification that will last 12 months. The individual must then retake the certification test to regain their certification. Individuals can also get certifications in other Google services such as Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform, Google My Business, and more. Overall Google’s certifications are a valuable way to show expertise to businesses in platform knowledge to drive growth.
Google Ads is an advertising platform that enables businesses to reach their target audience through targeted search and display ads. Ads Certification is a program that recognises individuals who have demonstrated proficiency in using Google Ads to drive business growth.
The Google Ads certification program is designed to test and validate the skills of individuals who manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns. The program covers a range of topics, including campaign setup, management, measurement, optimisation, and troubleshooting. There are several Google ads certifications available: Measurement, Search, Display, Shopping and App.
To become certified, individuals must pass the Google Ads certification exams. These exams are administered through Google Skillshop, which is Google's online training platform. Skillshop provides free online courses and certifications for a range of Google products and services, including Google Ads.
Google Skillshop is Google's hub for all their e-learning courses for Google Ads. Here you can take courses on: Google Ads Search, Google Ads Display, Google Ads Performance Max, Google Analytics, Google Ads Shopping, or even Google Ads Measurement.
To get started, individuals need to create a Skillshop account and navigate to the Google Ads certification section. Here they can access study materials and prepare for the exams. The exams consist of multiple-choice questions and cover topics such as campaign setup, keyword targeting, ad formats, bidding strategies, and performance measurement.
To pass, individuals need to score 80% or higher on the exam. Once they have passed they can earn a Google Ads certification that is valid for 12 months. After which they will need to retake the test to regain the certification. Individuals can display their certification badge on their website or LinkedIn profile to showcase their expertise in Google Ads.
In addition to the Google Ads certification program, Google also offers a range of other certifications through the Skillshop platform. These include certifications for Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform, Google My Business, and more.
Google Ads certification is a key indicator that you are qualified to use Google's advertising platform to its best ability. Employers search for these certifications on LinkedIn and use them as a benchmark to set aside potential candidates from other candidates. With the demand for qualified marketers that are skilled in working with Google Ads being high having these certifications really sets you aside from the competition.
To find these qualified candidates, employers will use the LinkedIn search function to find people with Google certifications. This allows the hiring manager to filter potential candidates before going ahead with their hiring process.
Additionally to this, having knowledge of other areas of digital marketing is great to have but having Google's certification will make you stand out to employers.
Notes can be taken when learning the content required for certifications you may need this for when information slips the mind or you need a refresher on a topic whilst answering a question. Don’t rely on these during the exams make sure you’re fully prepared for the exam before taking it.
Don’t rush your answers! Make sure you read the question before answering as some of Google’s wording may be tricky and can catch you out if not read correctly. As well as this there is no need to rush at all you get a good amount of time to answer all the questions provided by Google USE IT!
You may be the smartest person in the world but that still doesn’t mean you should rush through the topics thinking you know everything. Remember if you fail the exam, you must wait 24 hours before retaking. So make sure you have been through each module, taken keynotes and that you are ready and prepared for the exam.
Overall, becoming Google Ads certified is a very valuable way for individuals to demonstrate their expertise in using Google Ads to drive business growth. By passing the certification exams and maintaining their certification, individuals can stay up-to-date with the latest Google Ads features and best practices and differentiate themselves in the competitive digital marketing industry.
