Rhinox Group sells bucket attachments for excavators and other large machinery. Having grown significantly from their inception in 2018 that service the entire UK and more recently expanded to the US market in 2020.
They came to us in the summer of 2022 to improve their PPC and SEO channels as they continue to grow.
Rhinox has two sites, one for the UK and one for the US. Built using Shopify they were relatively well-optimised for conversion with a good product range targeted for each country.
However, the sites were competing with each other. They were not set up to tell Google which site should be prioritised in each region. This was causing both sites to be held back but in particular the US.
The main issue was that there was nothing telling Google which site belonged to which country. This was a simple fix, we needed to implement Hreflang’s.
Hreflang is an HTML attribute used to specify the language and geographical targeting of a webpage. They tell Google about the different languages and versions you may have of the same page or website. Helping them to serve the right version to the right user based on location and language.
This can be a simple fix but with both sites having separate inventory and site structure we had to map each page to another and with several 1000 URLs it wasn't a small task.
Once we did this we set the sites live with the Hreflangs and waited to see the results.
